Spain was once again hit by floods as torrential rain washed away cars on the streets of Girona. Videos show a raging torrent sweeping away everything in its path, including several vehicles, as it swept through the center of the Catalan city of Cadaques on Friday morning. Today, residents woke up to a scene of devastation, with Mayor Pia Seriniana revealing that a total of 32 cars were swept away by the waters. Many of them ended up piled on top of each other in front of a bridge near the city’s casino. This disaster comes a few days after the previous flood that hit Spain, and more specifically the region of Valencia, with more than 200 victims. The Catalan meteorological service Meteocat, which published a video of the new flood that hit Spain in the early hours, said: “this is how the stream of Cadaques descends after the intense and continuous rain that occurred in the morning, with an amount of rain of more than 100mm.” .
