Spain: Industrial production fell in October

Industrial production in Spain fell in October from September, as factory activity continued to show signs of weakness due to supply chain congestion problems.

Industrial production fell 0.4% in October compared to the previous month on a calendar and seasonally adjusted basis, according to data from the INE statistical service.

In September, industrial production was stagnant.

The decrease in industrial production is mainly attributed to the reduction of 1.3% of capital goods and the reduction of 1.3% of the production of intermediate goods.

Non-durable consumer goods increased by 0.3%, energy production increased by 0.9% and production of durable consumer goods increased by 0.9%.

On an annual basis, industrial production fell 0.9% in October on a calendar and seasonally adjusted basis.

The Spanish economy grew by 2% in the third quarter, compared to the previous quarter.
Economists expected growth to slow in the last quarter of 2021.
