Spain: John McAfee found dead in his cell, hours after Justice approved his extradition to the US

The American tycoon John McAfee, the creator of the eponymous antivirus, was found dead in his cell, in a prison in Catalonia. This development came a few hours after the Spanish Justice gave the “green light” for its extradition to the USA.

According to the newspaper El Mundo and as reported by APE-MPE, the Ministry of Justice of Catalonia confirmed the death of the 75-year-old. Prison officials and prison nursing staff tried to resuscitate him, but without success.

“The Judicial Committee went to the penitentiary center and is investigating the causes of death. “Everything indicates that it may be a suicide.” referred to in the notice.

The businessman was wanted in the US for tax evasion. He was arrested last October at Barcelona airport and taken into custody.
