The Spanish government today denounced the “misleading” lawsuit filed by a group close to the far-right that prompted a preliminary investigation into the brother of Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez. The organization Manos limpias (“Clean Hands”) was the one that caused the judicial investigation against Sanchez’s wife. “It’s Manos limpias again. Once again, we are faced with a misleading lawsuit based, again, on excerpts from online tabloids,” government spokeswoman Pilar Alegría said, confirming to reporters that the prime minister’s brother is under investigation. Three suspects of tax offenses The court of the city of Badajoch, which was contacted by AFP, confirmed that an investigation is being conducted against the Socialist president of the District Council of the district of the same name and against two employees of this service, but without naming his brother Sanchez, David.
