Spanish police announced today that they have arrested 100 members of a gang, which they were transporting hashish and marijuana from Morocco to Spain, by speedboats.
The gang filled the boats with drugs and crossed the Mediterranean to the Guadalquivir River, near Seville in southern Spain.
In the raids that took place, the police seized more than five tons of hashish and 230 kilos of marijuana, according to the announcement of the Spanish police.
Some members of the network were working to ensure that speedboats, which consume large amounts of fuel, would always be ready for use.
According to police, other gang members were hiding drugs in trucks carrying fruits, which went the illegal merchandise from southern Spain to France, to equip their dealers throughout Europe.
