Spain sends 200 tonnes of military equipment to Ukraine – $ 90 million in aid from Denmark

Spain will supply 200 tons of military equipment to Ukraine, an offer that represents twice the amount of military aid sent from Madrid to Kyiv to date, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced today from the Ukrainian capital.

“This is the most important mission from Spain. It is more than double what we have sent so far,” he said during a joint news conference with his Spanish counterpart, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, and his Danish counterpart. Mete Fredericksen.

“A Spanish naval ship, the Isabel, set sail today from a Spanish port bound for Poland, carrying 200 tonnes of modern ammunition and equipment,” the Spanish leader added.

“This ship is carrying 30 trucks, special transport vehicles and 10 small vehicles with military equipment, which will then be delivered to Ukraine,” said Pedro Sanchez.

Madrid has so far sent about 12 aircraft carrying military equipment to Ukraine, Defense Minister Margarita Robles said on Monday.

For her part, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said today that her country would provide an additional $ 90 million in military aid to Ukraine and support additional sanctions against Russia.

In a statement during a visit to Kyiv, the head of the Danish government said that the total of Danish military aid amounts to about 146 million dollars.
