Special beans and artisanal roasting: where to have a quality coffee in SP

I think many here already know, but I’m a lawyer by training and daily practice, so that, in addition to gastronomy, my agenda is made up of countless commitments that involve clients and partners.

And, in times of a pandemic (which, as it turns out, has not yet effectively ended), for me, the culture that prevailed is that of holding less and less closed meetings at the office to, consequently, combine these occasions with more pleasurable moments such as a coffee 🇧🇷

Hence, since then, I have held more and more meetings in several coffee shops that exist in São Paulo.

Here’s a warning: I won’t be discussing paragraphs and paragraphs about roasts 🇧🇷 aromas 🇧🇷 acidity or methods 🇧🇷 I leave this precisely so that you can collect the necessary information in places that I will indicate below.

Anyway, in today’s text I indicate coffee shops that, currently, are the ones I most frequent in the capital of São Paulo. Some of them, many times, also attract me for their food, but that’s for you to taste and come to your own conclusions.

Good coffee to all and I hope that, when possible, you adopt the culture of less formal meetings.

king duck

Installed in a modern environment, Pato Rei has a variety of coffee options for the most diverse styles, tastes and preparations, in addition to often having super special (and even rare) beans available for consumption.

It has a great food menu, many of them Japanese-inspired.

Luís Carlos Berrini, 1.127, Brooklin, São Paulo-SP / The Pinheiros unit is open Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 6pm and Thursday and Friday from 9am to 10pm. The Brooklin unit is open from Tuesday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 9 am to 6 pm.

Coffee Lab

The Coffee Lab gives us the feeling of having coffee at an acquaintance’s house. This is due not only to the location, but also to ordering from the cafeteria kitchen.

In any case, it is a true school on the subject, not only because it offers courses, but also because it has some types of comparative tasting on the menu.

Coffee Lab (@coffeelab_br): Rua Fradique Coutinho, 1340, Vila Madalena, São Paulo-SP / Tel.: (11) 3375-7400 / Open daily from 9 am to 6 pm.

Perseus Coffee House

Perseu Coffee House is located on the ground floor of a modern building in Jardins, close to Avenida Paulista, and has a beautiful main hall and an open and airy space.

In various preparations, the special grains and artisanal roasting are an attraction – in addition to the well-elaborated food menu.

Perseus Coffee House (@perseucoffeehouse): Alameda Santos, 2159, Cerqueira César, São Paulo-SP / Phone: (11) 3081-3003 / Open daily, from 8 am to 11 pm.

holy grain

If memory serves me correctly, Santo Grão was one of the first establishments in São Paulo to be concerned with “raising the bar” in serving the most popular drink in our country.

Allied to the pioneering spirit is the knowledge that is passed on on-site courses and the diversified menu.

Holy Grain (@santograo): Rua Oscar Freire, 413, Jardim Paulista, São Paulo-SP / Tel.: (11) 3062-9294 / Open daily from 8am to midnight / Has other units.

Cafézinn

Cafézinn is another place that reminds you of a coffee in someone’s house, especially for those who sit in the open space that resembles a garden.

The menu, made up of numerous specialty coffees, also contains options for breakfast, brunch and nutritious meals.

Cafézinn (@ocafezinn): Rua Haddock Lobo, 1574, Cerqueira César, São Paulo-SP / Tel.: (11) 93249-1268 / Open daily from 8am to 8pm / It also has a unit at Shopping Iguatemi.

About Fred Sabbag

Fred Sabbag is a lawyer by profession, but in his free time, he doesn’t deal with lawsuits or legal procedures: one of his greatest passions is going to bars and restaurants.
