After long periods of isolation, advances in vaccination in Brazil opened doors for Brazilians to look for destinations to travel in the New Year and Carnival. According to Gustavo Vedovato, country manager of KAYAK in Brazil, Rio de Janeiro, Recife and Salvador are the main destinations for New Year’s Eve.
“Among the main demands, the northeast is the focus”, says Vedovato. “A lot on account of the summer along with the vacation period”. He also highlighted that Florianópolis had a 16% reduction in prices compared to the same period in 2019, Recife; 12%; and the city of Rio de Janeiro, 6%.
To make better savings, the country manager of KAYAK in Brazil states that for domestic tickets it is necessary for Brazilians to plan 30 days in advance “to find cheaper tickets” and for international travel, from 3 to 4 months.

“Among the most sought after regions abroad, Miami is the only city with a 3% drop in prices,” says Vedovato. The price of a ticket to Paris, for example, rose 22% compared to the previous month.
Throughout the year, there was a growing search for international travel in April, and, in July, the search for Brazilian places equaled abroad.
