The birthday party of Victoria Beckham, what happened this Saturday (20), it was lively. The designer, better known as Posh Spice, celebrated her 50 years with a lavish party in London, at which her former bandmates Spice Girls — Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell-Horner, Melanie Brown and Melanie Chisolm — joined her.
In a remarkable karaoke moment, the five were seen singing the 1997 hit “Stop” together in a video posted on Beckham's Instagram. They also seemed to remember the song's choreography, as if no time had passed.
“The best night ever! Happy Birthday to me! I love you all so much!” she wrote in the caption. Her husband, football star David Beckham, appears to have been the only one to capture the impromptu singing on camera and appeared in the video expressing his excitement about the iconic reunion.
It was the first time the original members had been seen together in years. The last time all five members of the Spice Girls performed was in 2012, at the opening ceremony of the London Olympics.
In 2019, Bunton, Horner, Chisolm and Brown — also known by the nicknames Baby Spice, Ginger Spice, Sporty Spice and Scary Spice, respectively — reunited for a tour. At the time, Beckham chose not to participate, citing his desire to focus on his family and his successful company.
The British girl group released their debut album, “Spice,” in 1996, and went on hiatus in 2000 so its members could pursue solo careers. They became famous for their hits “Say You'll Be There”, “Wannabe” and “2 Become 1”, among many others.
