SpoonTEK’s tech spoon is introduced to make food taste better

Many people think that food is not tasty enough if salt, sugar, or some kind of seasoning with monosodium glutamate is not added to it. But it is not beneficial for our body. Startup SpoonTEK offers an alternative, an innovative spoon that reportedly enhances the taste of any dish while harmlessly affecting the taste buds.

SpoonTEK looks like an ordinary spoon, but inside it has a battery and electronic stuffing. One electrode is on the underside of the handle and another is inside the scoop. Since this is still a table item, it has a relative resistance to water and mechanical stress. Accordingly, such a spoon can be safely used with liquid dishes. It works very simply – the user clamps the electrode on the handle with his hand, and the food closes the other electrode. When a person puts a spoon in his mouth, he closes the electrical circuit (the LED lights up), and there is a slight electrical stimulation of the taste buds of the tongue, which improves taste sensations. The same principle is successfully used in chopsticks and specialty cocktail glasses. Such electrical stimulation does not cause any harm to the body.

The SpoonTEK Spoon cannot be washed in the dishwasher, only by hand. In addition, such a gadget is not recommended for people who have electronic implants (especially pacemakers) or those who suffer from seizures. The developers also advise getting rid of any foreign objects in the mouth or tongue before using the spoon.

SpoonTEK is already available for sale on the developer’s website at a price of $29 (about 2,000 rubles). The spoon is offered in three color options: black, gray and beige.
