The team at popular streaming music service Spotify has released an update to its Wear OS smartwatch app with a welcome innovation – the ability to listen to music offline.

The update became available, but not all users were happy with it. In particular, users note significant battery drain and sound quality issues when using the new offline mode.
There are also problems with connecting to wireless headphones, with Bluetooth 4.2 being called as a possible reason, which is the standard for not the newest smartwatches. However, not all those who received the update have similar problems.
Listening to Spotify music offline for Wear OS requires a paid Spotify Premium subscription. Premium users can store albums, playlists and podcasts in the watch’s memory for offline listening, for example, while jogging. Free account users can only download podcasts.
