O Spotify announced that it will begin testing a new function on its platform: creating playlists through commands to your artificial intelligence . So far the functionality has only been released to Premium users in the United Kingdom and Australia, for both Android and iOS.
The lists will be created based on the musical genres that the person already listens to and, according to the company, the instructions can include terms that refer to places, animals, activities, movie characters, colors and even emojis.
The platform gave examples of commands that can be used to create playlists:
- “An indie folk playlist to hug my brain with affection”
- “Relaxing music to carry me through allergy season”
- “A playlist that makes me feel like the main character”
Other tools using artificial intelligence have already been created by the streaming platform using OpenAI: AI DJ and Daylists.
Spotify said it will improve AI playlist creation in the coming months, but did not provide information about the release of the functionality in Brazil or other countries.
