Spring 2025 is the warmest ever recorded in the UK

The United Kingdom has experienced the warmest spring ever recorded and the drier of the last 50 years, the Met Office meteorological service announced today. The average temperature was set at 9.5 degrees Celsius between March-May, a record from the start of the registers in 1884. The previous record was recorded last spring, with 9.37 degrees Celsius. This spring was also the most sunny since the start of the data recording in 1910, with 653.3 hours of sunshine between March 1 and May 31, 2025 in the United Kingdom, or 43% more than average.
