Sputnik-V and Sinopharm vaccines will be produced in Serbia

Only grocery stores and pharmacies will be open on weekends at Serbia, decided the government due to the outbreak of the pandemic that is manifesting in recent days. Also, all events (theatrical performances and concerts) that were scheduled for the next two days were banned.

The distance learning system includes the last three classes of basic education, which lasts eight years in Serbia. Teaching has been practiced for a week now in Secondary Education.

More than 4,500 new cases are detected in Serbia every day. As of yesterday, 4,668 people were found to be positive for the coronavirus, while 26 patients died from complications of the disease.

Authorities are calling on citizens to come and be vaccinated regardless of whether or not they belong to vulnerable groups. At the same time, a mass vaccination program is being implemented in the region where mobile units will visit villages and vaccinate anyone who wishes. To date, 1,881,651 vaccinations have been given in Serbia, while 699,626 people have received the second dose.

Meanwhile, the production of the vaccine will start at the Torlak Institute in Belgrade on May 20th, according to the Serbian government. Sputnik-V with raw material arriving from Russia. By the end of the year, with the help of the Russian side, the technological conditions will be created for the full production of the vaccine in Serbia.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced yesterday during a visit to Abu Dhabi that he had agreed with the United Arab Emirates and China to build a factory for the production of Chinese vaccines in Serbia. Sinopharm which will start operating in October this year.
