‘Squid Game’ actor charged with sexual misconduct

According to international media, the actor from the South Korean series the squid game, Oh Yeong-su, was accused of sexual misconduct. On Friday, Suwon prosecutors revealed that the 78-year-old actor was charged with inappropriately touching a woman’s body in 2017, but he was not arrested and the case was recently reopened.

According to the information, the alleged victim filed the complaint in December 2021, however, despite the fact that the police closed the case in April of this year, the woman appealed the decision for which the prosecution had to reopen the case and restart the investigation.

For his part, the actor declared for the JTBC television station that he had only taken the woman’s hand to show her the way around a lake and also added that last year he apologized to the woman for what happened, however, this did not mean to admit his guilt.

Despite the fact that the investigations continue, it should be noted that after the accusation, the Korean Ministry of Culture withdrew a government television commercial in which it featured the actor, so it could be said that this situation has somehow damaged his career. .

And it is that despite having a great career, this type of accusation comes to tarnish almost 60 years of having started his career as an actor. Recall that this performer gave us the oldest contestant in the survival contest and made an amiable contrast amid violent self-interest.

With his great performance he won a Golden Globe, in the shortlist for best supporting actor in a series, miniseries or movie made for television and also won a Primetime Emmy nomination for best supporting actor in a drama series.
