St. Petsas: Any excess euro will return to society

“As long as there is available fiscal space, it will return to society,” Deputy Interior Minister Stelios Petsas told SKAI.

As he said, the government is implementing its pre-election commitments and abolishing the extraordinary contribution.

Regarding the continuous increase of fuel prices, Mr. Petsas said that the subsidy is extended and that the government will continue to support society for as long as needed.

“We make the interventions that are needed more targeted. Whatever intervention we make must be continuous and any surplus euros must be returned to society in order to have trust,” he pointed out.

Regarding the Turkish provocation, the minister said that “we are ready for what is needed”, while stating that the message to Turkey is clear.

Finally, for the elections, he stressed that they will take place in 2023, ie at the end of the four years, and we should not confuse the actions of the government to support the citizens with the electoral cycle.
