The authors of the YouTube channel Elbrus PC Test managed to run the STALKER games “Clear Sky” and “Call of Pripyat” on a computer equipped with an Elbrus-8C processor with a frequency of 1.3 GHz. Despite the presence of a powerful video card (Radeon RX580), games were run at a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels. The FPS was low, so comfortable gaming is out of the question, but you can still play.
The tests were carried out on a BITBLAZE OBERON 100L computer with 32 GB of RAM, an SSD-drive, a Radeon RX580 video card and the Elbrus 6 operating system on Linux 5.4.
Both games were compiled from the open source graphics engine OpenXRay, which is based on the source codes of the original graphics engine X-Ray Engine used for Call of Pripyat. Enthusiasts got the opportunity to build STALKER games for the Elbrus architecture after the working version of the LuaJIT scripting language compiler appeared in the Elbrus OS.
In general, the games work, and some of the shortcomings can be attributed to the still poor optimization for the Russian architecture.
