Stamenitis: The 2022 budget reflects the Greece of the future

“The 2022 budget, thanks to prudent management, proper planning and the smooth promotion of reforms by the New Democracy government, is a budget on which the Greece of the future is reflected. A steadily developing course, with social justice as a key feature. “It reflects an extroverted country that keeps pace with its times, responds to the challenges of the times, faces crises and moves into the future with confidence and optimism,” said ND Special Rapporteur Dionysis during the budget debate. Stamenitis.

The ND MP referred to the Public Investment Program, through which, in 2022, total resources are expected to be spent, including the resources for the Recovery Fund, amounting to 11 billion euros, which as a percentage of GDP translates to 5.9%. Of the 11 billion, 6.5 billion are projects that will be funded by the European Union, 1.3 billion are projects that will be financed exclusively from national resources, 3 billion are projects and reforms of the Fund for Recovery and Sustainability, said Mr. Stamenitis, who also pointed out the high absorption rates of the NSRF. “Greece has won the first place among the member states of the European Union in the absorption of funds”, said the special rapporteur of ND and added that Greece, for the programming period 2020-2027 has drawn up a comprehensive corporate pact, which was approved first in level of the European Union and is the beginning of an ambitious strategy for the regional development of the country.

Mr. Stamenitis referred to the National Recovery Plan, noting that “in a six-year horizon he can add 7 points to the country’s GDP”.

The implementation of the Greece 2.0 plan, said the ND MP, will play a key role and perhaps the dominant role for the reconstruction of Greece and the final overcoming of the problems that led us to the problems from 2010 to 2019.
