Obi-Wan Kenobi, the next Star Wars series, will premiere on May 25, the same day of the release of the first film in the “original trilogy” of the saga, “A New Hope”, in the United States, in 1977.
The series will feature the return of Ewan McGregor, the actor who played the character in episodes one, two and three. The story will take place ten years after the third film, when the Jedi Order is destroyed and there is the emergence of the iconic villain Darth Vader.
Speaking of returns, actor Hayden Christensen, who played Anakin Skywalker in the films – and the transformation to Darth Vader – is also confirmed for the production.
With the announcement, the series also got a new poster:

The Obi-Wan Kenobi series will be exclusive to Disney+. Disney’s streaming platform is also responsible for the latest Star Wars series: The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett (which received the final episode of the first season this Wednesday) and Bad Batch, the latter being an animation.
The new production will be helmed by Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Deborah Chow, Ewan McGregor and Joby Harold.
