With several films and series already on air, the saga “Star Wars” has become a huge universe of pop culture and still continues to feed fans with new releases.
“Star Wars” did not end its story with the end of the Skywalker saga which presented its latest film — “Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker” — in 2019. Since then, the franchise has been investing in new live-action and animated film and series announcements.
Some new “Star Wars” productions are already on the radar. Thinking about keeping you up to date with everything, CNN separated a list of all future releases in the saga. Check out!

Series
- “Star Wars: Stories of the Empire” – May 4, 2024
The production premieres on the Disney+ streaming platform in may 4th a date known worldwide as being “Star Wars Day”. The animated series will have six episodes set in the fearsome Galactic Empire. The new story will be told through the eyes of two warriors on divergent paths, set in different eras.
- “The Acolyte”: – June 4, 2024
In the official plot, viewers will be transported to the galaxy with dark secrets and dangerous powers emerging during the last days of the High Republic era. There, a former Padawan reunites with his Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes, but the forces they face are more sinister than they ever predicted.
The first two episodes arrive in June 4, to the 10pm on the streaming platform.
- “Skeleton Crew” – no release date scheduled
In the plot, a group of children get lost in the galaxy and desperately search for a way home.
- “Andor” (2nd season) – no premiere date scheduled
The work takes place five years before the story of the films “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” (2016) and “Star Wars: A New Hope (1977)” and brings Diego Luna back to the role of the rebel Cassian Andor. History will show the beginning of the rebellion against the empire.
- “Ahsoka” (2nd season) – no premiere date scheduled
The production tells an adventure of the character Ahsoka Tano – in the history of Star Wars, she was Anakin Skywalker's apprentice before he became Darth Vader. In live-action, she is played by actress Rosario Dawnson, who first played the character in “The Madalorian” and “The Book of Boba Fett”.
- “Lando” – no release date scheduled
With Donald Glover tipped to star, the series will tell the story of the galaxy's favorite scoundrel, Lando Calrissian.
Films
- “The Mandalorian & Grogu” – no premiere date scheduled
The first film in the saga since 2019, it will be a spin-off of the already released series “The Mandalorian”.
“The Mandalorian” follows a bounty hunter through the forgotten territories of the galaxy, shortly after the fall of the Empire and before the creation of the First Order. On one of his adventures he meets Grogu, known to fans as “Baby Yoda”, who becomes his companion and seeks to understand his origins.
- Daisy Ridley in an untitled feature film – scheduled for release in 2026
Announced in April 2023, during the “Star Wars Celebration 2023” event, the next film, by filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, aims to show the new adventures of Rey, played by Daisy Ridley, after the events of “Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker” (2019).
- “Down of Jedi” – no premiere date scheduled
Directed by James Mangold, “Dawn of the Jedi“ will be a story that goes back thousands of years, about the beginning of the Jedi.
- “The Old Republic” – no release date scheduled
Directed by Dave Filoni, the film is expected to conclude some plots linked to the series “The Mandalorian'” which is also directed by Filoni and takes place in the same timeline as the feature.
- “A Droid Story” – no release date scheduled
“A Droid Story” will be an animation that follows the “characters” R2-D2 and C-3PO, the iconic droid duo that appears in the “Star Wars” franchise films.
