Starbucks takes its union to court over ‘Palestine solidarity’

THE Starbucks she filed a lawsuit against her employer association, because he posted on social media supporting the Palestinians – not Hamas -, after the new conflicts with Israel. At the same time, she accused them of using the name and color from her mark, even though the workers work on her behalf and have united for this reason.

The Business Insider states that a company has always opposed the establishment of a labor union by its employees and strongly opposed it after its creation, especially because they were called Starbucks Workers United and the mark was similar to hers. However, she did not make any legal move, because it would probably be rejected, since the union only represents the interests of her employees.

But after the ignition of the Middle East the facts changed, as the union published on platform X a photo which showed an Israeli bulldozer demolishing a Palestinian house and the caption read “solidarity with the Palestinian people». This particular post was deletedbut others supporting the people of Gaza followedbut without taking the side of Hamas or justifying the atrocities it committed.

So Starbucks, in the lawsuit filed against him union representing more than 360 stores in the USclaims that people have called for a boycott of her stores because she disagrees with the posts.

For its part, Starbucks Workers United argued that it should use the circular green logo to show who it represents, while stressing that “he didn’t post let alone many pro-violence postsnor did the union take a stand supporting violence.”
