Start at Upstream: The paid internship program returns for new DevOps Engineers

After two highly successful cycles, Start at Upstream returns once again. The high-level 12-month paid internship program of the Greek multinational technology company – leader in the field of mobile marketing Upstream, this time offers training and training to young DevOps Engineers. Those interested can submit their CVs from March 14, until April 8, 2022.

Prerequisite for participating in the new Start at Upstream cycle for DevOps Engineers is to have a degree or to complete their studies in computer science, computer science, programming or a similar field. The selection of participants in the program will be done after special evaluations and interviews, through which the candidates will have the opportunity to get to know Upstream and its executives.

The five selected DevOps Engineers will start their internship in May, joining the Upstream staff for a full year. The experience of the young engineers will start with a high level training program, lasting one month, with training on all the different aspects of DevOps engineering, from programming, automation, management and monitoring of production systems, to CI /CD. This is a uniquely designed program, which under normal circumstances would cost several thousand euros to watch. Participants in Start at Upstream, however, will have the opportunity to watch it completely free of charge, while at the same time they will be paid with a very competitive package and extra benefits, such as private life insurance, teleworking, access to a gym within the company, etc. .

Then, by the end of the program, new engineers will join Upstream’s DevOps Engineers team, working on real products and services aimed at an expanded international market of 1.2 billion mobile phone users in dynamically growing markets. around the world, such as Brazil, Nigeria and South Africa. Throughout the 12 months, each participant will have one of Upstream’s most experienced DevOps Engineers as their mentor, in order to answer any questions and guide them.

The company’s CTO, Natalia Mila, noted: “We are really happy to host Start at Upstream once again. The success of the previous two cycles of the program was evident from the hundreds of CVs we received, but also the level of success.” .

“Start at Upstream training was the best thing that could have happened in my career. I have not found or heard of anything like it. I feel like I have never learned so much in such a short time. I’m sure “Too many people would pay dearly to take part in such a training program, at a time when we were being paid to attend,” said Timos Polemitis, one of the participants in the first round of Start at Upstream, who is continuing his career. as a Software Engineer in the company.

However, at the same time, there are young and capable children who need the appropriate education, training and guidance to actively contribute to innovation and business development.” “Unfortunately, they are not offered in universities. With Start at Upstream, we decided to invest in new graduates, contributing to bridging the gap between universities and the labor market.”

It is recalled that the previous cycles of Start at Upstream were aimed at new software engineers. During the first cycle, which began in 2019, 11 software engineers were trained, of which 7 were hired by the company after completing their 12-month internship. The second cycle of the program is still in progress, as the ten young software engineers have already completed their training and have now joined the teams of software engineers of Upstream, where they will complete their internship in November 2022.
