The State Department expressed its concern on Monday to exclude candidates from electoral procedures in the wake of the decision depriving Marin Lepen the right to be elected for five years after being convicted of abuse of European funds. “The exclusion of persons from the political process is particularly alarming given the aggressive and corrupt legal war against President Donald Trump, here in the US,” State Department spokesman Tami Bruce told reporters, commenting on the decision.
