The National Committee of State Finance Secretaries (Comsefaz) will meet with Senate President Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG), next Monday (30) at 5:00 pm to discuss Bill 211/21, which sets 17% ICMS ceiling for fuel, energy, transport, gas and aviation kerosene.
The information was released this Saturday morning (28) by the president of Comsefaz, Décio Padilha, on a social network.
According to Padilha, who is also Pernambuco’s Finance Secretary, the committee will ask Pacheco for “support” and to “accelerate the processing” of the tax reform, the Proposed Amendment to the Constitution 110/2019.
The proposal for the ICMS ceiling for fuels, telecommunications, energy and transport was approved by the Chamber of Deputies this week and went on to be evaluated by the Senate.
Recently, Padilha told Estadão/Broadcast that the States want to present Pacheco with possible “improvements” in the project and show the impacts of the proposal to the States. State governments fear damage to the coffers with the reduction of the rate.
Last Thursday (26), Pacheco said that he will seek consensus with governors to discuss the project and that the Senate will give full attention to the issue. Next week, according to him, there will be a meeting of leaders to define how the project will be processed in the House.
