The recognition of a state of emergency, proposed in the PEC on Fuels pending in the Senate, does not mean a blank check for states and municipalities to spend more than they can, said the government leader in the House, Carlos Portinho (PL-RJ) , to CNN.
“(the recognition of the state of emergency) is a justification for an international emergency led by a war and the fuel crisis, but it should not be a blank check so that municipalities and states spend more than they can, as happened in the pandemic, when perhaps the measure was justified because the crisis was broader,” he said in an interview with CNN.
Senators should vote on the proposal around 4 pm this Thursday (30).
“The crisis is now very specific to the fuel sector, which affects freight, fuel, the price of products on the shelves, cooking gas, and the government’s efforts have been in this direction,” he said.
