The state of Minas Gerais is approaching 900,000 cases of dengue in 2024, as of this Friday (5). Throughout Brazil, more than 2.5 million cases of the disease and more than a thousand deaths have been recorded.
The state of Minas Gerais confirmed 163 deaths and more than 580 deaths under investigation due to arbovirus. According to data from the Ministry of Health's Monitoring Panel, most probable cases in MG occur in women between 20 and 29 years old.
The state with the highest number of deaths in the country is São Paulo, with 212 records. The SP government declared an emergency due to the disease, on March 5, after reaching the number of 300 confirmed cases per 100 thousand inhabitants.
Across the country, 1,593 deaths are being investigated and 1,078 have already been recorded. 55.4% of probable cases are women.
