State of São Paulo studies releasing masks in open places in up to 20 days

At a press conference this Wednesday (17), the government of the state of São Paulo announced that, within 10 to 20 days, it should release the use of masks in open, uncrowded environments.

The Scientific Committee of the Government of the State of São Paulo predicts that, in this period of time, it will be possible for the pandemic rates to reach the required levels so that flexibility can be done safely.

During the press conference, it was disclosed that, at this time, the state has 22% of the beds in the Intensive Care Unit for Covid-19 occupied. With regard to greater São Paulo, the number is 28%. In all, 56% of hospitals in São Paulo no longer have patients hospitalized with Covid-19.

Third dose in SP

According to the coordinator of the São Paulo State Immunization Plan, Regiane de Paula, São Paulo will apply as a third dose any of the immunization agents approved by Anvisa in Brazil and available at UBSs (Basic Health Units) and AMAs (Medical Care Outpatient), including Coronavac, which was not on the Ministry of Health’s schedule to be used as a backup.
