Russian state television exhibited images of North Korean soldiers training in the country on Monday (28).
In addition, in an official Kremlin statement, President Vladimir Putin expressed his personal gratitude to the North Korean leader Kim Jong-un for the role of North Korean soldiers in expulsion of Ukrainian troops from the Russian region of Kursk.

“Our Korean friends acted based on a sense of genuine solidarity, justice and camaraderie. We greatly appreciate this and we are honestly grateful to the president of state affairs, comrade Kim Jong-un, all the leadership and the RPDC people,” the statement said, referring to North Korea by the initials of his formal name.
North Korea also confirmed for the first time it sent troops to fight Russia in the war in Ukraine under Kim’s orders. and that helped resume control of the Russian territory occupied by Ukraine. None of the countries had confirmed or denied the sending of troops earlier.
