Steam has published fresh statistics about the computers of its users, and the information about operating systems is the most interesting: the share of all monitored versions of Windows has increased, except for 64-bit Windows 10 – it fell by 2.63% in a month. It is noteworthy that even Windows 7 and 8.1 showed growth, although the former has not been supported for a long time, and extended support for the latter will end in mid-July.
The number of macOS and Linux users increased, but not at all significantly: by 0.25% and 0.06%, respectively. The share of Windows among all operating systems of Steam users still totally dominates with 96.37%.
Otherwise, the statistics have not changed significantly:
- the most popular amount of RAM is 16 GB (50.82%);
- the most popular processor clock frequency is from 2.3 to 2.69 GHz (18.61%);
- the most popular number of processor cores is 4 (32.74%);
- the most popular video card is NVIDIA GeForce 1060;
- the most popular screen resolution is 1920×1080 pixels (66.72%).
