Stellantis to help Foxconn develop connected car services and digital dashboards

Stellantis and Foxconn have signed a memorandum of understanding to create a joint venture to help partners develop connected car services and digital dashboards. The joint venture will be called Mobile Drive.

Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Citroen, Fiat, Opel, Peugeot and many others are now all one concern. Fiat Chrysler and PSA merge to form Stellantis

The shares in Mobile Drive will be divided equally. The JV is expected to combine Stellantis’ expertise in vehicle design and development with Foxconn’s expertise in the rapidly changing software and hardware domains of smartphones and consumer electronics. The partners are confident that Mobile Drive will be able to “provide new horizons of information and entertainment opportunities in the passenger compartment of connected vehicles.”

All Mobile Drive developments will be owned by Stellantis and Foxconn. The joint venture, headquartered in the Netherlands, will act as a supplier to the automotive industry.

Mobile Drive’s areas of interest include AI applications, 5G connectivity, advanced wireless services, e-commerce capabilities and smart cockpit integration.
