The Amazonas civil police are trying to locate a 30-year-old woman who was recorded attacking her 12-year-old stepdaughter in a house in the Compensa neighborhood, west of Manaus. The video of the attacks has been circulating on social media since yesterday afternoon (4).
According to the civil police, the suspect has already been identified, but has not yet been detained. The investigation carried out by the Police Station Specialized in the Protection of Children and Adolescents (Depca) showed that the victim’s aunt installed the cameras to record the attacks, which would be constant.
According to delegate Patrícia Leão, responsible for the case, the investigations began shortly after the police became aware of the video. The teenager was located and taken to the police station to formalize the case.
“The police team managed to locate the victim in the Paz neighborhood, central-west area, still very injured and scared. She was taken to Depca, where she was heard and reported that the attacks occurred after she and her stepmother returned from a walk on Monday (06/03)”, said the delegate.
If captured, the suspect, whose name has not been released, must answer for the crimes of bodily harm in the context of domestic violence, ill-treatment and abandonment of an incapacitated person, together with the teenager’s father.
