Donald Trump’s former top White House adviser Steve Bannon was released from prison today after four months in prison for contempt of Congress, a week before the November 5 presidential election. Also influential in Europe, the conservative populist, aged 70, was sentenced in October 2022 to 4 months in prison for refusing to cooperate with the parliamentary inquiry into the attack on the Capitol by supporters of Donald Trump on January 6, 2021. That sentence was upheld in the second degree in May, and Steve Bannon began serving it on July 1 at a Connecticut (northeast) prison.
