Steve Carell denies participation in “The Office” spin-off: “I will be watching”

Steve Carell 61, he stated, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporterwhat will not participate in the spin-off of “The Office” . The actor played Michael Scott, one of the protagonists of the American version of the plot, which came to an end in 2013.

“I will be watching, but I will not appear. It's just a new thing and there's really no reason for my character to appear in something like this. But I'm excited about it, it seems like a big presumption.”, he said.

“I love the idea, I think it takes place in a bankrupt newspaper company, and I worked with Domhnall Gleeson, who is one of the protagonists; I did [a série] 'The Patient' with him, and he's an excellent actor and a super nice guy, so I think it's going to be great,” he added.

A new seriesco-created by Greg Daniels, responsible for The Office” , will be set in a historic newspaper with financial problems and will introduce new characters, but they will be followed by the same documentary team that recorded the Dunder Mifflin office in the plot starring Carell.

The stars of “Ex Machina”, Domhnall Gleeson (“Question of Time”) and Sabrina Impacciatore (“The White Lotus”) will lead the cast of the as-yet-untitled series, according to an official statement from NBC.
