Steve Wozniak: “Bitcoin is a mathematical miracle”

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak called Bitcoin a “miracle of technology” and “a unique mathematical formula.” At the same time, he himself does not plan to invest in BTC.

Wozniak announced this during his speech at the Talent Land Digital 2021 virtual event in Latin America, dedicated to technology and innovation. The Apple co-founder said he is positive about Bitcoin, even though he doesn’t invest in it. Several years ago, Wozniak already bought bitcoin, but then sold it, as he wanted to protect himself from unnecessary worries about the jumps in the rate of the first cryptocurrency.

During the conference, Wozniak called Bitcoin “pure digital gold”, drawing an analogy with the traditional precious metal. Gold is a finite resource, while Bitcoin’s supply is limited to 21 million coins. This means that after the last BTC was mined in 2140, there will be no new bitcoins. With this in mind, gold and bitcoin will be able to maintain their value in the market. However, according to Wozniak, bitcoin is much better.

“Stocks of gold and bitcoin are limited. However, mining gold requires great efforts, and Bitcoin mining is not difficult. Bitcoin is a real mathematical miracle. I don’t invest in bitcoin, but I believe that it will stay for a long time, ”Wozniak said.

Wozniak’s words came shortly after Mexican billionaire Ricardo Salinas Pliego’s statements about bitcoin. He recently said that Bitcoin can safely be called the new gold, which, unlike gold bars, is much more portable. Pliego is also the founder of Banco Azteca, which may become the first bank in Mexico to work with bitcoin.
