Steve Wozniak: “governments will never give up regulating cryptocurrencies”

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak believes that governments will never allow Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies to get out of their control. Otherwise, they would be completely banned.

In an interview with Yahoo Finance, Steve Wozniak expressed the opinion that crypto assets have great potential, as they can be used to modernize many things, even elections. He believes that cryptocurrencies can make positive changes in any field of activity. Now people have the opportunity to pay for goods and services using cryptocurrencies, while maintaining confidentiality. This, in his opinion, is the advantage of using digital assets.

“I love it when people like Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey talk about cryptocurrency to be the heart of the business,” Wozniak said.

At the same time, the co-founder of Apple believes that if all firms working with digital assets were not controlled by regulators and cryptocurrency activities were not taxed, governments would completely ban cryptocurrencies. In addition, Wozniak is convinced that cryptoassets have a secure format that regulators will not easily change. He explained that Bitcoin has a fixed supply of 21 million coins, while US dollars are printed in unlimited quantities by the Federal Reserve.

“There will never be another bitcoin. Its creator is an anonymous person, it is not operated by any companies. This is the nature of bitcoin, and no one can change it, ”Wozniak said.

Earlier, he called Bitcoin “a unique mathematical formula”, thereby demonstrating a positive attitude towards it. However, for now, Wozniak has no plans to invest in the first cryptocurrency.
