The 2nd Panel of the Federal Supreme Court determined, this Tuesday (22), the suspension of a criminal action against the bookie Rogério Andrade, accused of being the mastermind of the death of rival Fernando Iggnácio, on November 10, 2020.
The ministers also decided to revoke the precautionary arrest decreed against Andrade.
Ministers Nunes Marques (rapporteur of the case), Ricardo Lewandowski, André Mendonça and Gilmar Mendes voted in favor of blocking the action.
In his vote, Nunes Marques stated that the decision is made “without prejudice to the continuity of investigations and the offering of a new complaint in relation to him. [Rogério Andrade] in the event of new evidence that can effectively demonstrate the existence of just cause”.
The only minister to take a stand against the suspension of the action was Edson Fachin, who was defeated in the case.
Patron of the samba school Mocidade Independente de Padre Miguel, Rogério de Andrade is accused of being the mastermind behind the murder of Fernando Iggnácio.
According to police investigations, the two would be disputing control of exploitation points of the animal game, video poker and slot machines.
