The Secretary-General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, Jens Stoltenberg, said on Monday that China’s leadership “does not share our values” when he left after meeting with US President Joe Biden at the White House.
The US president will attend the NATO summit in Brussels on June 14, during which China, like Russia, will be discussed, Stoltenberg told reporters.
The Norwegian also said that NATO welcomes Biden’s approach to Russia, not excluding dialogue between US President and Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. The first meeting of the two leaders since Joe Biden took office is expected to take place in Geneva on Wednesday 16 June.
