Stoltenberg: NATO is in contact with Turkey over its objections to Sweden and Finland

THE Jens Stoltenberg met with Joe Biden in the US and clarified that the NATO is in contact with Turkey to address Ankara’s concerns over its accession Sweden and Φινλανδίας in the North Atlantic Alliance.

According to the NATO Secretary General, the Alliance is in contact with Ankara to find a “single way” of dealingwhile Helsinki and Stockholm stressed that they would continue the dialogue with Turkey on their efforts to join NATO.

It is noted that NATO membership requires unanimity from the current 30 member states of the Alliance, but Turkey disagrees, arguing that Sweden, Finland provide shelter to PKK memberswhich Ankara describes as a terrorist organization.

“The West should prepare for a war of attrition in Ukraine”

The Secretary General of NATO after the meeting he had in Washington with the American president, referred to, among other things, the Ukraine war.

Jens Stoltenberg noted that Western countries must prepare for a long-term “war of attrition” in Ukraine, stating that “we must be prepared in the long run. “Because what we are seeing is that this war has now become a war of attrition.”
