A seven-year-old child died after being hit by the roof of a court that collapsed, this Tuesday (12), in Corumbá, in the western region of Mato Grosso do Sul.
The accident happened at the Cássio Leite de Barros municipal school, according to information from the city hall.
The students were taking physical education classes on the court when a storm started. The rain and wind prevented them from returning to the rooms, until the collapse occurred.
Four other children were injured by the fall and had to be taken to the hospital — two of them have already been discharged, and the other two are in stable condition, receiving care and undergoing tests at the local Emergency Care Unit (UPA).
According to the city hall, the wind gust reached 96 km/h, an intensity that was not predicted by Civil Defense.
