The city of São Paulo must face a storm this Friday (18), according to forecasts from the Climate Emergency Management Center (CGE) of São Paulo City Hall.
The CGE warns of the forecast of heavy rain, with lightning and gusts of wind that can exceed 60 km/h, from afternoon and night this Friday. The phenomenon can still lead to flooding and falling trees in Greater São Paulo.
According to information from the climate center, this Friday should start with sun and heat, with temperatures ranging between a minimum of 16°C and a maximum of 30°C. Humidity levels should reach values close to 35%.
The CGE explains that the change in temperature over the weekend would be caused by the propagation of a low pressure system associated with a cold front. This provides more widespread rain, gusty winds and declining temperatures.
On Saturday (19) the forecast is also for cold weather. According to information from the center, the spread of the cold front along the coast of São Paulo leaves the weather closed and rainy throughout the day, which prevents temperatures from rising in the capital of São Paulo.
“The minimums fluctuate around 16°C and the maximums should not exceed 22°C, with humidity levels above 80%. The continuation of rains increases the risk for formation of floods, river overflows and landslides”, informs the CGE.
The center’s data also shows that October has recorded 25.2mm of rain so far, which corresponds to 22.4% of the 112.7mm expected for the month.
