Violent reactions from animal rights organizations caused a “happening” of the Louisiana football team in which local government officials brought a live Bengal tiger – the team’s emblem – into the stadium in a cage. This particular event, which in years past was part of the pre-game presentation ritual of the Louisiana State University team, was reportedly not only encouraged but supported by Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry himself.
