Storms continue in much of Brazil this week; see forecast

Much of Brazil is expected to continue experiencing storms this week, according to Climatempo.

The meteorological agency reports that a flow of hot and humid air, low atmospheric pressure from Paraguay and the passage of a cold front will cause unstable weather in the country in the coming days.

This Monday (4), Rio Grande do Sul should have greater humidity and risk of storms in the West and South and Gauchos.

Rain showers can occur at any time in different parts of RS, Santa Catarina and Paraná. Parts of the southern region are expected to suffer from heavy rain and persistent winds with gusts of up to 70 km/h at the beginning of the week.

In the Southeast, the risk for storms remains high throughout the state of São Paulo and in some parts of Minas Gerais.

In the capital of Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro, the sun should appear more in the morning, but with the possibility of showers from the afternoon onwards. Espírito Santo should receive little rain, according to the agency.

Climatempo warns of a start to the week with lots of clouds and rain conditions at any time in Greater São Paulo, on the coast and in the interior of the state.

The possibility of disruption is high for the Metropolitan Region this Monday, after heavy rain this weekend .

There is also a risk of storms in the Midwest. Heavy showers are predicted for the East and Northeast of Mato Grosso do Sul, in Goiás, DF and regions of MT. The agency warns of heavy rain in the capitals Cuiabá and Campo Grande.

In the North region, the forecast is for heavy showers with thunderstorms in Manaus (AM), Boa Vista (RR) and Porto Velho (RO), mainly in the afternoon. On the other hand, the weather is expected to remain firm in Macapá (AP) and Belém (PA).

Climatempo does not predict storms in the Northeast for this week.

New cold front

A new front in the south of Brazil should generate more unstable weather in the country, starting this Wednesday (6).

The cold air mass should move more strongly to the states of MS, SP, RJ and MG, especially on Thursday (7).

According to Climatempo, the first week of November could end with heavy rain showers in “a large part of the country”.

The alert is greater for São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, where stronger storms are expected to hit between Friday (8) and next weekend.
