Storylines: the ship to live on a cruise (yes, always)

Who wouldn’t go on a cruise for life? Or, at least, who wouldn’t do it among those who can afford it? It is for them, the millionaires, that the ship of dreams is about to be launched: Storylines’ MV. It will leave in 2024 to go around the world, not with simple passengers, but with owners of its 547 luxury residences. They range from studios to mega apartments of 200 square meters with prices starting from one million dollars (to reach 8 million). Instead, the few residences (for now it is not known exactly how many) that will be reserved for rent cost 400 thousand dollars. That’s the price to pay – plus an extra that starts at $ 65,000 for all-inclusive services – for travel the world in extra luxury, on a ship that lacks nothing to live a lifetime.

On the other hand, now that almost everything is done remotely, even a ship can be perfect for working. It is precisely thinking of the wealthy digital nomads who can cultivate the passion of travel while maintaining work, family, home life that the founders of Storylines, Shannon Lee and Alister Punton, they thought about their ship.

In addition to all the entertainment that we all now expect from a cruise ship, on board there is everything you need to continue to lead a “normal” life, like in a small town: 20 restaurants and bars, a microbrewery, three swimming pools with solarium, dog areas, business center, a beauty salon, a library of 10,000 books, a cinema, an art studio and a bowling alley, an outdoor running track, a full gym with state-of-the-art equipment, a yoga studio, golf simulators, dance floor, and among other things, the first traveling school of its kind in the world.

Yes, a school, on a cruise ship. And it is one of those schools that we have all dreamed of attending with an educational program based on experience, which combines seminars, lessons, homework, field trips, and what a field! Examples? Ancient art studied at the pyramids of Giza, literature at Shakespeare’s Globe Theater in London, marine biology at the Great Barrier Reef. All with modular learning programs, even based on the trip.

There is no shortage on board a medical staff which operates in an emergency medicine hospital (if necessary there is a helicopter landing pad for medical evacuations), as well as specialized studies in nutrition, immune therapies, detoxification or anti-aging treatments and dietary planning.

The itinerary? Around the world: MV of Storylines travels circumnavigates the globe every 1,000 days spending several days in ports in order to have the time to discover the destinations.

All of this with low environmental impact: it is one of the most environmentally friendly passenger ships in operation with liquid natural gas (LNG) propulsion, which is the most environmentally friendly. And then on board, among other systems to lower the impact, are mechanisms to convert waste into energy and a solar-powered hydroponic garden.

Another thing to know: Storylines explicitly writes that it will make every effort to ensure that its passengers are not just tourists but they know in depth the places with specific visiting programs, and also says that will involve its guests in philanthropy programs. If all wealthy travelers did this, the world would be a better place.
