Stranded train passengers walked for hours in the Channel Tunnel

Dozens of people were temporarily excluded in the channel tunnel when a train from Calais, France to Britain broke down. Video that has seen the light of day shows the passengers walking in the tunnel that connects the two countries.

Eventually they were transferred to another train and arrived in Kent.

According to Eurotunnel Le Shuttle, the alarm did not work and this needs to be investigated.

“It was terrifying,” said Sarah Fellows, 37, of Birmingham, according to the BBCafter Tuesday’s incident.

“It was like a disaster movie. We were just walking in the abyss not knowing what was going on. We had to stay under the sea in this long line.”

“One woman was crying in the tunnel, another who was traveling alone had a panic attack,” he added.

Another passenger, who did not want to be named, noted: “A lot of people were freaking out. It’s a big strange world. We were stranded there for at least 5 hours.”

The company initially announced on Twitter that the train had broken down, but later told the BBC that it had not, in fact, broken down, but the fact that the alarm did not go off means an investigation should be carried out.
