It seems that the end of “Stranger Things ” can arouse great feelings in viewers.
Show creators Matt and Ross Duffer hinted at what’s to come on Sunday (13) during a panel discussion in Los Angeles.
The Duffer brothers said they pitched the fifth and final season to Netflix in a two-hour meeting, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
“We got our executives to cry, which I thought was a good sign that these executives were crying,” said Matt Duffer. “The only other times I saw them cry was at budget meetings.”
The panel for the popular Netflix series was moderated by Patton Oswalt. In addition to the brothers, the conversation included executive producer Shawn Levy and several cast members.
Ross Duffer said production was “in full swing” with the first script already delivered and work underway on the second.
He referenced the show’s many characters and the importance of wrapping up their stories, something Levy also touched on.
“As a witness and having been in that two-hour presentation room and having read this first script – I am paralyzed with fear of screwing anything up, but I will say the thing about these Duffer Brothers is that although the show has become so famous, the characters so iconic and there’s a lot about the ’80s and the supernatural and the genre, it’s about these people, it’s about these characters,” said Levy.
“Season 5 is already clearly taking care of these character stories because that’s always been the lifeblood of ‘Stranger Things’.”
