Stranger Things: the most curious fans called the number on the pizza truck and found Argyle on the other side of the phone with surprise

The last season of Stranger Things was characterized by the twists and turns, special effects and new characters who, in a short time, stole the hearts of the spectators: the brave and misunderstood Eddie Munson and the odd but still helpful Argyle.

Argyle earns his living (or rather, smoking) by working as a delivery boy at Surfer Boy Pizza. He is not a very cautious or even slower driver but, in some scenes, the most attentive fans of Stranger Things they managed to make out the phone number on the delivery truck.

Struck by curiosity, they dialed the number in question, to find Argyle on the other side of the handset. Obviously, it is his recorded voice of him, otherwise the poor fellow would be forced to answer thousands of daily calls.

Argyle responds by saying: “Surfer Boy Pizza, speaks Argyle. Here at Surfer Boy only fresh stuff, except our pineapple, which comes from the can, but I still recommend putting it on pizza. Oh, fruit on pizza is insidious you say? Well, try it before you refuse! “.

Argyle’s pro “pineapple on pizza” campaign, which began in the series by trying to get Eleven and a skeptical Mike to try it, also continues outside of shooting. Already we Italians are reluctant to this reinterpretation that little represents the traditional recipe of our sacred pizza, moreover if we are offered pineapple that is not fresh but preserved in a can, it is really difficult to change your mind.

Anyway … Argyle carries on his call undisturbed, rattling off some details about the orders and even providing his thoughts on blue cheese, a cheese similar to our gorgonzola.

Whether the pizza with pineapple convinces or not, surely this is the call with Argyle an original and very nice gimmick! A direct connection (or almost) with a character breaks not only the fourth wall but also the fifth, sixth and seventh.

If only Surfer Boy Pizza really existed, surely at this moment their pizza would be selling like hot cakes. However, including Argyle is not a totally wasted marketing move: first of all it gives the series even more credibility for the attention to detail, even a number is not there by chance but leads to a “track” and then … *Netflix * And Walmart they have studied a collab to be savored!

Walmart is selling 4 varieties of frozen pizza available in physical stores and online: pepperoni, supreme, meat lover and pineapple jalapeno. The brand of the box, the font and the graphics are the same as we find in the series, with the addition of the protagonists.

There Surfer Boy Pizza mania is not just to taste, you can wear it! In fact, thousands of themed products are born on the web: t-shirts, caps, key rings and so on and so forth.
