CCTV cameras have become a common security tool. Only 42.5 million units were shipped for home surveillance cameras last year. The category leader in 2020 was Ring, owned by Amazon. Its share doubled over the year. This data is contained in a report prepared by Strategy Analytics.
Amazon took first place for the first time, overtaking Arlo and Wyze. This is followed by Google Nest and Alarm.com. Together, these five companies have shipped more than 12 million cameras, or about 30% of the total shipments. The top ten suppliers also include companies like D-Link, Eufy, EZVIZ, Kasa and Resideo. The authors of the report clarify that they included only household CCTV cameras for smart homes, but not video intercoms and professional systems.
