Strike in SP: congestion exceeds that recorded during last month’s strike

The city of São Paulo recorded 630 km of slowdowns at 8am this Tuesday (28), amid the strike by Metrô, CPTM, Sabesp and education professionals. The congestion observed was 50 km above the average for the time.

According to the Traffic Engineering Company (CET), on average, on Tuesdays, at 8 am, the slowdown usually reaches 573 km.

In the last stoppage carried out by the categories, on October 3rd, also on a Tuesday, the speed recorded was 598 km, at 8am. Therefore, today’s strike (28) exceeds the slowness observed in the last strike by 32 km.

Yesterday, Monday (27), the city recorded 478km of congested roads at the same time.

Caster suspension

According to CET, the municipal vehicle rotation in the capital of São Paulo is suspended throughout the day this Tuesday (28) due to the planned strike by employees of the Metro and Companhia Paulista de Trens Metropolitanos (CPTM).

On a Tuesday, vehicles with license plates 3 and 4 could not circulate in the rotation zones in the capital from 7am to 10am and from 5pm to 8pm. With the strike, this restriction was lifted.

Despite the suspension of the rotation, CET informs that the bus lanes and corridors will continue to operate normally according to the established schedules. There will also be no changes in the Blue Zone.

The other restrictions adopted in the city also continue to apply, such as the Zone of Maximum Restriction on Truck Circulation (ZMRC) and the Zone of Maximum Restriction on Chartering (ZMRF).
