Starts this Monday (27) the strike of the Internal Revenue Service, approved last Thursday (23) after a meeting of the National Union of Auditors (Sindifisco).
According to a statement by the president of Sindifisco, Kleber Cabral, to CNN, most auditors would join the stoppage. The exception is the customs area, which would continue its activities at a reduced pace.
According to analyst Caio Junqueira, the Minister of Civil Affairs, Ciro Nogueira, and the secretary of the Internal Revenue Service should meet this Monday to deal with the impasses.
Employees are dissatisfied because the public budget approved for next year cut funds destined for the institution. In addition, the text approved by the National Congress does not provide for resources to readjust the salaries of the institution’s employees.
The decision to go on strike was taken at a general assembly of workers with almost 4.3 thousand participants. According to Sindifisco, almost 100% of the servers supported the strike.
Revenue employees also expressed support for employees who are handing over their positions at the institution. Since December 15, auditors across the country have been giving up their leadership functions in protest against the lack of adjustment. This mobilization accelerated with the approval of the 2022 Budget in the National Congress without the provision of resources for the Federal Revenue Service.
According to Sindifisco, more than 700 leadership positions have been handed over at the institution, so far, in protest against budget cuts.
With the strike, the Revenue servers will carry out standard operation in customs, with the exception of some types of cargo, such as medicines and health supplies. The stoppage must not affect the traffic of those traveling internationally.
President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) considers allocating part of the resources reserved in the Budget to civil servants, which have not yet been earmarked, to the Federal Revenue Service.
“If we are going to make a linear adjustment, we will give a 0.6% adjustment for all of these R$ 2 billion. We don’t want to commit injustices, neither for more nor for less”, said the president during the weekly live on Thursday (23).
