The American payment service Stripe announced the resumption of transactions with digital assets – after a six-year break. In the summer of 2024, the team promises to add support for transfers in USDC stablecoins.

President and co-founder of Stripe John Collison assured that transactions will be processed on-chain and automatically convert stable tokens into fiat assets. The service has already opened a waiting list for users.

The official position of the service: digital coins are increasingly finding real use in everyday life, which means it’s time to make them available to customers.

Increasing transaction speeds and decreasing transaction fees have made stablecoins an important medium of exchange. Customers of the service are promised transactions with the USDC stablecoin on the Ethereum, Solana and Polygon networks.

In 2018, the payment service Stripe abandoned transactions in cryptocurrencies, citing the excessive volatility of Bitcoin.

Previously, Stripe announced the expansion of its cryptocurrency purchase service – the company launched a separate platform that does not require changes in application code.
